Great Party, how to write an Invitations Card

Published by dodo at 11:00 pm under Gift, Kid, Kids Game, Kids Party

You can use bought invitation cards, of course, but it is more fun to make your own, using a cardboard box or cereal packet cut up, or the plain backs of Christmas or birthday cards.

Suppose you decide on a Pooh Party. You can draw an outline of a honey pot or a picture of Pooh on a piece of card, then cut round the outline. Draw in the details and colour it. If there is room write your invitation on the picture, but if it is too small write on the back. The card must be small enough to fit into an envelope if it is to be posted, but if you are going to deliver it by hand you can make the invitation as large and unusual in shape as you like. Huge cards could be propped securely against friends’ front doors, or tied to a branch of a tree where they are certain to be seen.

All My ChildrenInvitations for a Cook-and Eat Party could be shaped like a casserole or a frying-pan.

The invitation should read something like this:

Dear Sarah and Mike,

We are having a Pooh Fancy Dress Party here on January 6, from 2.3o to 5.3o p.m.

and hope you can both come.

Jane and Jack

Or

Dear Mary and Pete,

Can you come to Brunch here

at II o’clock on Tuesday, August 12? We hope to go for a long walk

afterwards. Please wear old clothes, and Wellington boots if it is wet. Jill and David
