Splotch was out shopping with Magix and Mub. Splotch loved going to the shops with Magix, but today was a little different because Mub had come along with them. Usually Mub stayed at home with Papi, but not today.
Before too long, Mub began whining. He reached out and pulled Splotch’s hair. “Ouch! Stop that Mub,” moaned Splotch. But Mub just carried on whining and hitting Splotch and pulling her hair. Continue Reading »

Gogs and Bumper had a big surprise for the Freaky children. All the Freaky children had been sick in bed with coughlitus. They had been coughing, sneezing and sniffing for a week. It hadn’t been fun and Gogs and Bumper had stayed away so that they didn’tcatch the coughlitus germs.
So, to cheer the children up, Gogs had made them a big cake with lots of icing and sprinkles and Bumper had helped her to decorate it. When the children got home after their first day back at school, they couldn’t believe their eyes! On the table was an enormous cake with a hundred candles stuck on top. And would you believe it, all the candles were singing, “Surprise, surprise, what a nice surprise!” Continue Reading »

Shaper was feeling lonely. His best friend had moved away and he felt like he didn‘t fit in at school. All the other children still had their best friends and Shaper felt left out. He wished his best friend hadn’t moved away.
The other children were friendly enough, but he didn‘t feel special with them. It felt worse when the teacher told them to choose a partner because Shaper was always the odd-one-out. He didn‘t have a partner and then had to join in with two other children. He felt they didn‘t really want him to join in. They would’ve preferred Shaper to join another group. Continue Reading »

Shaper and Shell and the Twin were playing soccer outside.
“Be careful where you kick that ball,” said Papi, while shaking his finger at the children. “I don’t want any broken windows when I come home. If anything gets broken, you’ll have to pay for it yourselves!” Papi said sternly while shaking his finger even harder.
“Not a problem, Papi,” shouted Shaper. “We’ll be careful, and anyway, we’re kicking the ball away from the house.” The children carried on kicking the ball to each other and Papi rode off down the road on his bicycle.
A little while later, the children decided to see how high they could kick the ball, trying to kick it over the tree in the yard. Continue Reading »

The Twin were feeling nervous. They had to perform a poem in front of the whole school forthe Variety Concert and they had never done anything like that before. It all felt so newfor them.
They had been chosen by their teacher because they could recite the poem so well together. They used lots of expression and because they were twins, their timing was spot-on, near perfect.
The Twin were waiting in the wings for their turnto go onto the stage. They were rubbing their hands together and sweating a lot. Both felt sick in their stomachs. Continue Reading »

Papi, Magix and the older children (Shaper, Shell and Splotch) were getting ready to go out. It was night time and it was dark and cold outside, so they were dressed warmly. Gogs and Bumper were staying home to look after Mub. He was playing with some toys and happily sucking on a sticky sucker. Soon the family was ready to leave.
“Goodbye Mub and Gogs and Bumper,” said Splotch giving Gogs a big hug. “Goodbye all! Have fun now,” said Gogs. Continue Reading »

Beesly was being obstinate! She would not let anyone play with her new blockey block. “No, you can’t play with it. It’s mine and it’s brand new!” shouted Beesly to Shell. “I am not going to give it to you! No, no, no … no!” Beesly had her arms wrapped tightly around her new block and she would not budge.
Shell loved playing blockey. “Please Beesly, please let me have a turn,” asked Shell pleadingly. “I am your best friend and you can’t enjoy your new block if you don’t play with it. It can’t be fun just clinging to it like that … Let’s have some fun andplay a game of blockey.” But Beesly had her arms wrapped tightly around her new block and she would not budge. She was being quite obstinate. Slowly but surely Beesly’s stripes were changing. Yes, instead of looking like a bee, she started turning red all over! Continue Reading »

“Why?” asked Splotch, “Why do fish swim all the time? Why don’t they go onto land and walk?” Splotch was asking Papi so many questions. “And why do cows give us milk and not juice? Why?” Splotch was feeling curious. She wanted to understand things and know how her world worked.
“Just give me a moment to think, Splotch, I’m not always sure how to answer some of your questions. Maybe some questions don’t have answers,” replied Papi. Continue Reading »

Mub was clinging onto his mother, Magix. They were at the doctor’s office and Mub didn’t recognise or know any of the people. Even though Magix waschatting to some of them, they were all strangers to Mub. When they went into the doctor’s office, Mub wouldn’t look at the doctor. Hehid behind Magix.
“Mub’s feeling a little shy Doctor,” said Magix. “He doesn’t remember you.” Mub turned his head slightly and carefully peeked out at the doctor.
“Hello Mub. How are you?” asked the doctor. Mub quickly hid behind Magix again. His colour began to change to purple. Continue Reading »

Shell was not having a good day. She had failed a test at school and Beesly was not speaking to her. They had had a fight and Beesly wouldn’t play with Shell at break-time. Magix could see that Shell was feeling upset.
She asked Shell what was wrong.
“Everything is wrong. I failed a test at school and my best friend won’t speak to me. I just feel hurt and angry and sad all at once,” cried Shell. Sure enough, her shell turned bright red and her tears were blue. Shell was feeling very upset. Continue Reading »
